Also there is a mail published by gizmodo. That seems to be real and I think Apple will announce this new iPhone in recent days. The other possibility is that Apple may use the power of word of mouth.

Nintendo, Apple and Google are the world's top three best companies, according to a new BusinessWeek top 40 chart.

The World's Best Companies/Global Top 40 list was compiled for BusinessWeek by management consulting firm A.T. Kearney.

Innovation, expansion, leadership

The top 40 is based on a number of factors, primarily "a commitment to innovation, diversified portfolios, aggressive expansion, strong leadership, and a clear vision for the future" with the top 40 coming from 18 countries.

Companies in the top 40 also come from a wide range of different industries "ranging from chemicals and contracting to software and shipbuilding."

However, it is notable that there are six tech and telecoms enterprises in the top 40 that have "tapped into continuing demand for mobile-phone services and new digital hardware and services", three of which are right at the top of the chart.

Japanese gaming giant Nintendo stands proudly at the top of the 2009 chart, with BusinessWeek noting that: "Its sales have risen 36 per cent annually over the past five years, while its value growth averaged 38 per cent. Despite the hard times of the past year, Nintendo's continued emphasis on innovation has helped the company develop must-haves such as the DS handheld game machine and the Wii console, which outsold rival offerings from Sony and Microsoft.

Adobe Flash acquires one additional dimension with CS4. I mean, 3D operations can be done with Adobe Flash. I know it sounds good for any Flash developer that knows limited environment of Flash before CS4.

Acoording to the flash article, the additional features of Flash are can be listed as below;

As an industrial engineer, I'm glad to see that SAP and Adobe are in collaboration to enrich interfaces of SAP applications. I've seen some of the examples at Adobe and immediately I find myself post here.

Firstly I want to explain how SAP and Adobe works together. I found an image that shows it in a simple way. Flash and Flex works are combined in a Flash SWF file and imported into Web Dynopro Component. Furthermore, application server can communicate with another Dynopro control and, data and event packages can move in two ways by using Rich Islands for Adobe Flash.

Intel and Adobe Collaboration

Adobe and Intel are working together to port and optimise Adobe's Flash technology to the Intel Media Processor CE 3100. The aim is to bring Flash content to devices such as set-top boxes, digital TVs and connected audio-visual devices.

The two companies claim to be uniquely positioned to support consistent internet content across both traditional PC systems and TV platforms. The move is intended to provide better video and web content across the full breadth of consumer devices.

Adobe's Flash Player and Flash Lite will be optimised for the CE 3100, and Intel expects to ship the first CE 3100 with Flash Lite before mid-2009.

"Our effort with Adobe will provide consumers with access to a growing number of Flash-based applications that will ultimately be enjoyed across a number of screens seamlessly, from the laptop to a mobile internet device and now the TV, " said William Leszinske, general manager of Intel's Digital Home Group.

Announced in August 2008, Intel's CE 3100 is a system-on-a-chip combining an 800MHz Pentium M core with graphics functions and video decoder circuitry.

The chip enables developers to target growth areas such as consumer electronics using the familiar Intel architecture.

As of today there have only been releases of Adobe AIR for Windows and Mac but Adobe is committed to also delivering a version for Linux. This is great news for developers like me who use Linux as their primary desktop operating system.

Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch said in a statement: “This could enable a whole new frontier of applications for Linux. We’re actually looking for Linux users to help us test it.” He said that the Linux version of AIR is currently in an alpha format.

The information sources and applications of the Internet have a small flaw: you can only use them when you are online. The Adobe will change. Flash desktop applications to be available on-line applications. Microsoft's Silverlight still lags behind.

"There are a lot of flash on the Web, but Flash is not the web," Mitchell said recently Baker, CEO of Mozilla, in an interview. It is possible to download multimedia items which can be dislayed at youtube like web sites. Firstly if you don't have Mozilla Firefox, please get the latest version of Firefox from here. And after the installation of Firefox, you must get an extension to download ".flv" files of watching items. I am using Video DownloadHelper currently. But there are more add-ons to use for that aim. Let's try one of the video that I published before about Multi Touch Screens (22.6MB)

After all installation you can see an icon at right of the navigation toolbar when you are at a video given page icon will be activated so click at that icon and see the downloadable ".flv" items.

After all setups, we can look some benefits and properties of that application. When I was downloading Adobe Media Player, I guess to see an application like windows media player. But it’s so different from Windows Media Player. Firstly, it is an application for watching videos from internet. Saying ”videos” is so simple for Adobe Media Player. After opening application, you can see the catalog button at the middle of the screen.

I call this application as “internet TV” :) because you can spend so much time with this application. All media can be chosen from catalog link or can be added by entering the feed file url. When you watch a video from your genre or show, the application automatically link it to downloads tab and you can archive your viewed videos and easily watch without downloading. Have Fun!

Remove Photoshop CS3 public beta

If you participated in the Adobe Photoshop CS3 public beta program, you must clean your system before installing the final shipping version of Adobe Creative Suite 3 applications.

On Windows XP: Remove Photoshop CS3 using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
On Windows Vista: From the Programs section of the Control Panel, select Uninstall A Program.
On Mac OS: Open the uninstaller from Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers.

Note:You CANNOT remove Creative Suite 3 applications by dragging them to the Trash; you must use the uninstaller.

After removing the Photoshop CS3 public beta, you can install the shipping version of Creative Suite 3 applications.

How to Mask Objects in FreeHand with Paste Inside Command

I experienced paste inside method with FreeHand this morning while making some papers of brochure. If you are a Macromedia FreeHand user, you may be familiar with the Paste Inside method of creating masks. Paste Inside creates either a vector mask or a bitmap mask, depending on the type of mask object you use. The Paste Inside command creates a mask by filling a closed path or bitmap object with other objects: vector graphics, text, or bitmap images. The path itself is sometimes referred to as a clipping path, and the items it contains are called contents or paste insides. Contents extending beyond the clipping path are hidden.

The Paste Inside command in FreeHand produces a similar effect to the Paste as Mask command, with a couple of differences:

With Paste Inside, the object you cut and paste is the object to be masked. Compare this with Paste as Mask, where the object you cut and paste is the mask object.
With vector masks, Paste Inside shows the fill and stroke of the mask object itself. A vector mask object's fill and stroke are not visible by default with Paste as Mask. You can turn a vector mask's fill and stroke on or off, however, using the Property inspector.

Let's do some example with that command :
1. make a pattern for example.

2. draw a closed where to mask line.

3.select the pattern which we draw first.

4.right click trough de menu find paste inside command.

5. All is done

Adobe Apollo Combines Flash Player and Acrobat Reader

Adobe Engineers are developing a new product codenamed Adobe Apollo that integrates the Macromedia Flash Player with the Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader. Adobe Apollo software will provide Macromedia Flash and HTML functionality and will run independent from the web browser just like a standalone desktop application.

Adobe Apollo won't provide an EXE projector like you see for SWF files, instead clients will have to download and install the Apollo runtime. And just like Macromedia Flash, Adobe Apollo will be a free runtime.

The pre-release version of Adobe Apollo will be available this year while Apollo 1.0 is expect in 2007. Apollo Version 1.0 will run on desktops while the future releases will support mobile devices.

Apollo will offer data synchronization, the ability to work online or offline, one-click installation and desktop integration. Apollo will join Flash Lite (the mobile client) and Flash Player (the browser client) to form the Flash Platform client family.

Adobe Apollo is seen as the next generation Flash player that run out of the browser and offers Macromedia Central client like capabilities. Meanwhile, Adobe will continue to deliver the standalone version Flash Player and Adobe Reader for viewing and interacting with PDF documents and forms.

Applications for Adobe Apollo can be developed in any IDE including Macromedia Flash Platform, Adobe Flex Builder (Zorn), Eclipse or even the good old notepad.

To explain the potential of Apollo, Macromedia Senior Vice President Mike Sundermeyer presented a concept application where a user's entertainment library was fully indexed and integrated with ecommerce, email, messaging, media center and other dynamic content into one intuitive application.

Adobe Apollo sounds quite like Macromedia Central, a application and deployment environment. Macromedia Central applications are written in Flash and can be run locally on the user desktop from a Macromedia Central shell client.

Kevin Lynch said that Adobe Apollo will be posted on Macromedia (Adobe) Labs when it moves to alpha stage. It is now very clear that the Macromedia Flash Platform is not going to stay exclusively in web browsers.

Ikezi Kamanu attended the Adobe Apollo technical overview session at Adobe Developer Week and he has posted screenshots with Technical Overview of Apollo. Ryan Stewart has some screen capture of demo applications built using Adobe Apollo and Flex Builder.
